FibraLink Jamaica is an international telecommunications company that owns and operates a sub-sea fibre optic network that links Jamaica to the continental United States.

In January 2005, FibraLink Jamaica was awarded a coveted telecommunications license by the Government of Jamaica to build and operate a submarine fibre optic cable system linking Jamaica to the rest of the world. During 2005, FibraLink Jamaica engineered, designed, obtained the requisite regulatory approvals in Jamaica and Dominican Republic, financed, and substantially completed the construction of the FibraLink Network. During the first quarter of 2006, FibraLink, with the help of its technical partners, Alcatel, IT International Telecom and New World Network provisioned, tested and brought into service FibraLink’s network.

FibraLink Jamaica is a wholly owned subsidiary of Columbus Communications Limited, (“Columbus”) a Barbados-based International Business Corporation that holds investments in telecommunication providers throughout the greater Caribbean region.

Columbus provides strategic direction, private equity, capital market expertise, marketing support and general management oversight to each of its investments, but does not actually operate any of the businesses or hold any assets other than the shares of each investment entity.
